Police have today refuted claims that two police officers working under Assistant Police Commissioner Crime, Nasir Ali have been transferred on allegations of witchcraft.
Police spokesperson, ASP Isikeli Ligairi has today clarified that the two who are office workers have been transferred on allegations of non-performance and not due to witchcraft.
Meanwhile, four people who were arrested over allegations that they were planning to intercept a company vehicle carting a large sum of money yesterday morning have been charged and are now in police custody.
Assistant Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita has confirmed that the four have been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and will appear in the Nasinu Magistrates Court this afternoon.
The staff from the Suva based company was carting the money when they suspected that they were being followed by suspicious characters in a taxi, and informed police.
The Police Strike Back Team responded and tailed the two vehicles before they intercepted the taxi in Kinoya. Upon searching the vehicle they found masks, cane knives and other implements which could have been used in a robbery.
