Police have strongly come out opposing a news article in one of the dailies yesterday, that some of its drunk officers allegedly raided one home in Nadi earlier this week without a search warrant.

Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri told Fijivillage that there was a news piece in one of yesterday's dailies, where a Nadi man had claimed Police victimization.

The man alleged that a group of police officers who were drunk raided his house without a search warrant and also used abusive language.

However, Sokomuri confirmed the house was raided by a group of police officers who had a search warrant with them and were sober, not drunk.

Sokomuri said the officers were carrying out their investigations in relation to a case and they did nothing wrong.

Sokomuri said they have spoken with the daily newspaper and the matter has now been solved. Police are expected to question the man soon in regards to his claims.
