A team of police officers from Sigatoka and Keyasi Police Post raided a farm in Keyasi and uprooted more than 450 plants believed to be marijuana.

Deputy Divisional Police Commander Western, SP Salacieli Naiviliwasa has confirmed that the street value of the plants uprooted is more than $25,000.

The raid was carried out upon information received from the members of the public.

SP Salacieli has commended the efforts of villagers of Keyasi who helped officers to raid the farm.

A team of 12 officers left Keyasi to raid the farm at 7am however they reached the farm at around 5.30pm. The officers arrived at the station early this morning.

The farm is located in an isolated area.
