Police Question alleged man involved in murder
Director CID, Waisea Vakamocea said that the man was taken in for questioning mid-day today after initial police investigations.
Superintendent Vakamocea has also confirmed that they are following some strong leads and more arrests are expected to be made soon. It is still unclear as to what was the motive behind Prasad's murder.
And the small community in Waidovu Navua is still in shock after the brutal killing yesterday. Speaking to Village News the younger sister of the deceased, Romika Prasad said their families can not comprehend what has happened.
A team of 20 officers from Criminal Investigations Department from Suva and Navua and also officers from the Strike Back Team are investigating the case.
A 39 year old man saw Prasad's van parked in an isolated spot with blood inside and reported the matter at the Pacific Harbour Police Post who responded immediately and found Prasad's body about 200 meters away from the van. There was evidence of stab wounds on the victim’s neck, chest and other parts of his body. He was last seen with two passengers.
