Nausori Police are now questioning the two teenage girls who had claimed that a Suva based taxi driver tried to rape them early this morning.
Divisional Crime Officer Eastern Ramesh Chand said they are getting conflicting statements from the two girls and they cannot establish yet if the taxi driver had attempted to rape the two.
Chand said the two girls were drunk during the incident and could have lied to Police about the incident.
The two girls claim they hired a taxi from Suva to go to Namadi Heights at 2.45 this morning but instead the driver took them an isolated place in Nasinu where he allegedly locked the doors and tried to rape them.
A team of Police Officers later arrived at the scene and arrested the taxi driver.
