Navua police are questioning a 32-year-old businessman of Serua for allegedly misusing more than $25,000 cash and other items including a vehicle from the Company he was working for previously.

It is alleged the man was operating a sawmill in partnership with an American national when he allegedly misused the cash and stole a vehicle, saws and other items.

It is further alleged the suspect then set up his own business when the American national was away overseas.

Police have managed to recover the stolen items and he is expected to be charged later today.

The investigation started after the sawmill owner wrote a letter to the Commissioner of Police Commodore Esala Teleni and Director CID, SSP Tevita Lesu asking for a formal inquiry.
