Police Question Australian National
Assistant Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita has confirmed that the 47 year old Australia national is the son-in-law of the deceased, Sarwan Kumar while the other suspect is from Korovuto Nadi.
According to police the two suspects were drinking together about 200 meters away from Kumar's house when an argument developed.
The two then came to Kumar's house and allegedly stabbed him many times while he was washing a basin after drinking grog.
Corporal Tevita said they also allegedly attempted to kill Kumar's wife however she managed to escape from the house. The two are expected to be charged later today.
Meanwhile, Police are questioning a 20 year old man of Lautoka for allegedly stabbing his 17 year old sister following an argument yesterday afternoon.
The victim was preparing tea when the man came and ate a piece of bread which resulted in an argument between them. The suspect then allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed his sister causing serious injuries to her arm.
He is expected to appear in the Lautoka Magistrates court this afternoon.
