A lesson to the police officers who do not attend court cases as witnesses.

In court today, two Police officers, Constable Sakaraia Tuberi and Constable Manasa Iosefo, both of Lami Police Station, were warned by Magistrate Vani Ravono for turning up late to a trial as witnesses.

They were held in the Suva court cell block for about an hour.

Tuberi told the court that he was sick and had gone to the CWM Hospital while Iosefo said he had gone to visit his father in Labasa.

Magistrate Ravono told the two constables that once they are ordered by summons through the court, they must ensure they attend court trials.

She warned them and released them to reappear on 6th May.
