The case of a 28-year-old disciplined forces officer will start in the Nasinu Magistrates Court from Wednesday next week, as he has been charged with one count of rape.

The police officer appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday charged with raping his sister.

Magistrate Sailesi Temo adjourned the case for Wednesday, as he had to attend a funeral service.

DPP lawyer Seini Puamau made an application for a suppression order to be issued by the court, for the complainant and the accused, to protect the privacy of the complainant.

Magistrate Temo then ordered that names be suppressed and the media will only be allowed to name the accused by his first name.

The officer is alleged to have raped his sister after a drinking party in Nasinu in December last year.
