A Police Officer from the Divisional Police Crime Officer Southern's office appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court earlier this week charged with 42 counts of forgery and larceny by servant.

Corporal Dharmendra Goundar is alleged to have committed the crime last month.

Lawyer Mehboob Raza who represented Goundar asked Magistrate Aminisasi Rokotuinaviti for the plea to be deferred as he wants second phase of disclosures to be served to the Court first.

Magistrate Rokotuinaviti has adjourned the case to the 18th of next month for charges to be read in Court and plea to be taken.

Goundar has been granted bail on $600 assurity and has been told not to interfere with witnesses.

DCO Southern, Apisolome Tuiwakaya earlier confirmed to Fijivillage News that he had reported the matter to Professional Standards Unit after receiving complaints against the Officer.
