Police are closely monitoring some Private Doctors on suspicion that they are conducting abortions.

Divisional Police Commander Western SSP Fesaitu Kava said in the past few days a total of 3 foetuses have been found in Nadi and police are not ruling out the possibility that some doctors might be conducting abortions.

A fully grown foetus was found in Namaka, Nadi over the weekend. The foetus was located by a 25-year-old laborer of the Public Works Department (PWD) when he was trying to clear a pipe blockage.

Police are calling on members of the public to come forward with information if they have any regarding the foetus that had been found.

SSP Kava said they are also working closely with Health Authorities to locate the mother of the foetus.
