After months of investigation, Police have finally managed to lay charges on a man who made false promises with students in Labasa to secure them a place in the Fiji School of Nursing.
Police have confirmed they have charged the former driver of Social Welfare Department in Labasa with four counts of obtaining money by false pretence.
The former driver is alleged to have obtained close to $4000 from about twenty students promising them a place in FSN.
He was also an accomplice of a Former Assistant Minister who is also expected to be charged in relation to the case later this week.
Both the driver and the Former Assistant Minister are also alleged to have taken goats and other food items from the parents of these students as bribe.
Police have released the former driver on $500 cash bail and he will appear in the Labasa Magistrate Court on the 2nd of next month.
