While the Fiji Police Force managed to unveil the largest marijuana farm in Bemana District in the highlands of Navosa, it has also been revealed that police are not well equipped with resources to trace these farms and arrest those behind it.
Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni said there are plenty other marijuana farms but due to the lack of resources they will find it difficult in making make the raids.
Teleni said Police Force needs to be more equipped to deal with these kind of crime.
This is after police made a major breakthrough on Wednesday where they uprooted $2 million worth of marijuana from the Bemana district which police say were for peddlers in the Central Division during the Christmas season.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said they have still not been able to locate the owners of the marijuana farms as they are not from the district. He said they are following some leads and arrests are expected to be made soon.
