Police are following some strong leads to arrest the man who allegedly sold a gun to the owner of Lokia Shopping Centre in Suva.
Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said they have interviewed and released the businessman and are now working on information to apprehend the man who sold the gun.
He added the gun is now in the custody of the police armory.
Sokomuri added it is a concern after the gun was brought in by the shopkeeper at the Central Police Station on Wednesday which he bought on the streets for $200.
He said the gun was fully loaded and was in operating order.
According to Sokomuri, he cannot reveal at this whether any charges will be laid against the businessman.
Police pleads to the public to be vigilant and to report to the nearest Police Station if anyone seen keeping dangerous items like guns at home.

Police are looking for a man who is believed to have sold a pistol to a business man in Suva a few days ago.

Sokomuri said the businessman has informed police that he purchased the gun on the streets of Suva.
