Labasa Police are investigating the death on a newborn baby after claims that the death could have been caused by negligence by Doctors.
Police have confirmed the mother of the four day old baby has lodged a report to Police claiming her baby died after he was injected in the thighs at Labasa Hospital on last Thursday.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said the will wait for the post mortem report of the baby after which relevant Doctors and nurses will be questioned.
According to Police the mother claims that her baby was injected by a nurse while she was breastfeeding.
She further claims that her new born baby stopped breathing straight after being injected.
The post mortem examination is expected to be carried out tomorrow morning.
