The Police 15s rugby team to defend the Sukuna Bowl on Friday against the Army side is expected to be stronger than the side that had been winning for the past three years.

After they completed their inter-unit competition the lawmen have been training at the Sigatoka sand dunes in the past two weeks knowing that their counter-parts from the Army Barracks want to end their dominance this year.

A loss to Army in the Escott Shield final has seen the side stepping up their preparation as they have drafted in the likes of Nadi halfback Aporosa Vata and Nadroga trio Etonia Naba, Iliesa Ratuva and Apisai Turukawa to strengthen the side.

Police team manager ACP Isikeli Vuniwaqa has made it clear to the Army team that it will not be easy for them to take the Sukuna Bowl away from them.

Army will take on Police on Friday at 4pm at the National Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station, Viti FM.
