Police have confirmed that eight men wearing masks and armed with cane knives and pinch bars robbed a couple at the Suva seawall and drove away in the couple's vehicle.
The eight then drove to the BP Marine Service Station in Walu Bay and robbed the cashier and attendant of cash, recharge cards and other items worth thousands of dollars.
The robbers then went to the Raiwaqa Bakery and stole a safe containing cash and cheques. The stolen vehicle used in the robbery was later found abandoned in Reservoir Road.
Police are calling on the public for more information.
Also, the suspect involved in the daring robbery at Fulaga Street over the weekend will be appearing in Court this afternoon.
Samabula Police confirmed the man had been taken to Court and had been charged with robbery with violence.
He was arrested by the police strike back team yesterday after a tip off. Meanwhile, the hunt is still on for the two remaining men of the 8 involved in the robbery. The 8 men broke into the house of a 63 year old market vendor in Fulanga Street armed with cane knives, iron rod and pinch bar.
They stole $2000 cash but were confronted by the market vendor and a 52 year neighbor.
