Detectives from Sigatoka are now hunting for people who are alleged to have been involved in the brutal murder of a taxi driver whose body was found in Cuvu Sigatoka this morning.

Divisional Crime Officer, SP Vijay Singh has confirmed that there are visible facial and body injuries on Mohammad Nasir and they are treating the case as murder.

According to SP Singh, Nasir's taxi registration LT 2385 was found abandoned about 5 kilometres away from where his body was found.

Forensic officers are still at the scene looking for clues which may lead to the arrest of those alleged to have been involved in the brutal attack.

A Post mortem is expected to be conducted tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Nausori Police are trying to identify the youth who's body was found in Nausori town's main street early this morning.

Police believe the deceased was drunk at time of the incident and they are now appealing for any information.
