Police are hunting for a man who tried to send two cartons of dried leaves believed to be marijuana through a courier company to Taveuni last night.

The street value of these leaves are estimated to be more than $12,000.

The man came with two cartons told the cashier at the company's Walu Bay office that he wanted to send the cartons to Taveuni saying there were clothes and other items inside.

The employees were suspicious and requested he open the cartons. The man then fled leaving the cartons inside the office.

Police Drug and Dog unit were informed and the dried leaves were confiscated. Police are calling for more information about the man.
