The Fiji Police Force is unaware of allegations of abuse of office and corruption leveled against some Senior Police Officers from Labasa Police Station.
Divisional Police Commander Northern ASP Isikeli Ligiari told Fijivillage that he just heard the news through Fijivillage and is unaware of any such allegations.
Ligiari said he will not comment on the matter but has welcomed Finance Ministries move to investigate the matter.
Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry confirmed to Fijivillage yesterday that his Ministry is carrying out the investigation following revelations that Police vehicles at the station are being repaired at a private garage at very high costs.
Chaudhry said it is not normal for Police vehicles to be repaired at a private garage as there are special police garages where they are to be taken for any repair or maintenance work.
