In recognition of the importance of aviation safety and security, the Fiji Police Force and Fiji's International Airline, Air Pacific today signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
This follows the increasing uncertainty of travelers worldwide and the growing air of suspicions that terrorism has brought upon Fiji.
Minister of Defence, National Security and Immigration, Ratu Epeli Ganilau said a recent United States report has rated Fiji as a Tier 3 Nation on people trafficking, thus, necessary security and safety measures need to be strengthened at Fiji borders.
Ratu Epeli added the MOU between the two agencies will ensure the issue is combated.
