A 36 year old Police Constable pleaded guilty in the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon to assaulting a FNPF Officer in Victoria Parade last Friday night.
Aisea Tavola pleaded guilty to his charges before Magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku and asked if could reconcile the matter with the complainant.
Magistrate Katonivualiku took into consideration that the Officer was a first offender and adjourned the case to the 7th of next month for reconciliation. He also told the Constable that he will have to pay $250 if the matter is not reconciled on that date.
It is alleged the Police Officer asked the FNPF Officer for his car keys when the Constable suspected him to be drunk on Friday night.
The FNPF Officer allegedly refused to give his car keys and it is alleged the Police Constable assaulted him.
