Police have today clarified that any comments which can lead to the downfall of the interim government will be deemed as seditious.
Director of Police Operations SSP Waisea Tabakau said under the Public Order Act a number of factors determine what a seditious comment is.
When questioned by Fijivillage on what actions will be taken against those who will make strong negative comments against the Draft Peoples Charter, SSP Tabakau said people should be more careful of what they are saying publicly.
Also, Labasa Police are expected to question Businessman, Charan Jeet Singh soon for allegedly making seditious comments in the Saturday's newspaper.
Police Media Officer, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms that Singh is still in Suva and he is expected to be questioned as soon as he returns to Labasa.
