Police have today clarified that a police tent placed in front of Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum's house in Lovoni Road is for the security of all the residents on Lovoni Road and not only for Sayed-Khaiyum.
Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri was responding to calls on why a police tent had been placed in front of Sayed-Khaiyum's house and not at other robbery prone areas.
Sokomuri said Lovoni Road residents had lodged complaints about receiving serious threats from robbers and thus the tent was placed in the area.
Sokomuri added they are now concentrating their police patrols in other high crime areas.
