Police have arrested and charged six men of Suva in relation to a number of break-ins at the Lautoka Market.

Deputy Divisional Crime Officer Western, ASP Waisea Kadawa has confirmed out of the six, three of them are working on a contract basis for the Lautoka City Council.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the six who are from Navua and Suva allegedly broke into the market and stole items including yaqona worth more than $20,000.

ASP Kadawa has also confirmed that the six later sold the yaqona to a kava dealer in Suva.

Police managed to confiscate some of the stolen items and more than $1000 in cash.

The six will appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court later today.
