Police have arrested a suspect who is alleged to have broken into a house in a village in Rewa on Tuesday and indecently assaulted the 42-year-old owner before robbing her.
Assistant Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the suspect is currently being questioned.
The 42-year-old woman was sleeping when the man allegedly broke into the house, ate food worth $50 and later robbed her of cash and jewelry before indecently assaulting her.
The man fled when the victim’s son raised the alarm.
The victim received some injuries during the attack.
