Sharks coach John Plumtree said the people bashing Blues coach Pat Lam are “no hopers” who have “done nothing with their lives”.

Lam has had a nightmare week after breaking down during a media conference on Wednesday while talking about the racist abuse he has received following his side’s string of losses.

Plumtree, whose team meets the Blues in a must-win match for both sides tonight, saw a clip of Lam’s breakdown and was moved by the images.

Plumtree said the Blues have had so much thrown at them this week and when you see Pat Lam under pressure emotionally on TV, they felt very sorry for him.

The Blues host the Sharks tonight at 7.35.

Meanwhile, at 11.10pm, the Force will take on Waratahs.
