The Suva Zone Nightclub Owners Association is extending an open invitation to Police Officers to enter their nightclubs and carry out inspections during this festive season.
Fijivillage has noticed many underaged students entering the nightclubs over the past few weeks.
Many have also been seen drinking alcohol at different spots.
President of the Association, Jayk Tavanavanua says policing is the only way to reduce underaged drinking in nightclubs.
He says there is only so much that nightclub owners can do with a limited number of security personnel.
Tavanavanua says they are also facing difficulties with monitoring entrance points in nightclubs.
He says some who are underaged and do not have a valid identification card take advantage of this.
Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says Police will enter nightclubs and carry out inspections this festive season if the need arises.
He says they will also focus on monitoring popular drinking spots.
26 nightclub owners are part of the Suva Zone Nightclub Owners Association.
