Two prominent Suva soccer players and coach were questioned by the police after their 3-2 loss to Labasa in the first semifinal of the FMF/Blue Gas Battle of the Giants soccer tournament this morning.

The incident happened after referee Dhirend Kewal blew the final whistle with the Capital City players questioning his decision of awarding Labasa a penalty in injury time which gave Labasa the win.

Our sports reporter at the scene witnessed the Suva coach Allen Jesoni and the two players Yogesh Narayan and Krishna Sami confronting the referee after they disagreed with his decision.

The referee was also taken to the Suva Private Hospital for medical examination after he was hit by the Suva officials and players.

It is likely that the Suva coach and the two players will face disciplinary action from the Fiji Football Association.
