The Fiji Kava Council is looking at 2009 as a good year to rake in a lot of money into the country from the yaqona market.

Fiji Kava Council chairman, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo said their proposals for allocated funds are with the Minister of Agriculture.

However he has urged the yaqona farmers to plant more yaqona for the local and overseas market.

Meanwhile Nawalowalo added the Fiji Kava Council and the European Union continues to engage talks hoping that the industry survives.
