In its bid to promote productivity and employment, there are plans to re-activate the tripartite forum.

This has been confirmed by Permanent Secretary for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, Taito Waqa, at the Employment Relations Advisory Board's first meeting for the year held today at the Southern Cross Hotel.

Waqa said the main purpose of the Board, under the new Employment Relations Law, is basically a tripartite stakeholder forum to advice the Minister for Labour, on employment relation matters.

He adds the representatives of the tripartite forum are the workers, employers, the NGO's and the central key Government agencies. He said they are committed to seeking dialogue for key policy issues, because they want productivity to boost employment creation and economic growth.
