With an estimated budget of $100,000 to set up security cameras in Suva, the SCC is hoping that stakeholders in the Crime Free Suva Project will come on board to help fund the project.

Suva/Lami Special Administrator Marica Hallacy said plans are in place to install 52 cameras in strategic locations and the main cost factor will be the setting up of the base system where the monitoring will take place.

Hallacy said while they have set aside an initial budget for the installation process, she hopes considering what difference the cameras will make in the capital city, will be an incentive for organizations to help with funding.
