Health Minister Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete says that plans are in place to look at building a sub-divisional hospital in Valelevu based on the increase in population along the Suva-Nausori corridor.

Doctor Waqainabete confirmed this to Fijivillage after some people raised concern on why the Nakasi Health Centre closes at 4pm.

The Health Minister says they are looking at all the strategies to ensure that service provisions continue to increase. He says based on this, Valelevu Health Centre is open 24/7, Makoi Health Centre opens into the night and Nausori Health Centre continues to open 24/7.

People have also raised concerns about some government pharmacies at hospitals and health centres closing at 5pm.

Doctor Waqainabete says health officials are having discussions on some strategies and he will give further details later.
