Plans are in motion to have medical practitioners registered on a periodic basis rather than the current practice of near life time registration, in light of the interim government's concerns with public safety and the trust of the people in our health system due to recent medical negligent cases.
Interim Minister for Health Dr. Jiko Luveni said having medical practitioners registered on a periodic basis in now an international practice and will help restore confidence in our doctors and dentists.
She added that that this will ensure that medical and dental practitioners in Fiji are also on par with their training in new medical techniques.
