Plans In Place To Counter England-Rokodiva
Rokodiva Junior has been so far one of the outstanding players for the Fiji 7s team, guiding them through to the Cup quarterfinals with convincing victories over Cook Islands and Samoa yesterday.
Speaking from Wellington, Rokodiva Junior said they didn't have a good start in their opening match but things started to roll from the Cook Islands match.
He said in the Cup quarterfinal, England has the upper hand but they have a game plan to counter them.
Rokodiva Junior who has so far crossed the try line in all the three pool games yesterday, is hoping to score more tries against England.
Meanwhile, the England 7s Captain Ollie Philips said it will be a good match against the Fijians.
The Digicel Fiji 7s Coach, Iliesa Tanivula has retained the same team that defeated Samoa yesterday to reach the Cup quarterfinals.
Players to be on the run-on team - Etonia Naba, Rupeni Nasiga and Seremaia Burotu will play in the forwards while Peni Rokodiva Junior will again start at halfback.
Niumaia Cakacaka will be the play-maker while Filimoni Botitu and Vereniki Goneva are the other backs to play against England.
Fiji will meet England in the Cup quarterfinal today at 1:55pm. The first Cup quarterfinal at 1:33pm will be between Kenya and Wales.
Argentina plays the third quarterfinal against USA at 2:17pm while hosts New Zealand meet South Africa in the last quarterfinal at 2:39pm.
The Digicel Fiji 7s players had a good meeting with the Coach Iliesa Tanivula last night, after they reached the Cup quarterfinal stages.
The players were told of the importance of the tournament and also to prove the critics wrong, as many criticised the team after they lost to USA in their opening pool match yesterday.
Team Manager, Alifereti Malo speaking from Wellington this morning said players have vowed to do their best and if things go well, they will be playing in the Cup final tonight.
Malo said no teams in this tournament can be underestimated but they have plans for England match.
