The people of Naitasiri should look forward to more job opportunities and a market for their produce as plans are in the pipeline to have an ethanol plant in Navuso by the year 2011.

This was revealed today by the Interim Minister of Transport and Works Timoci Natuva while opening the $1 million acess road for the 3 villages of Nakini, Natoaika and Deladamanu in Naitasiri.

Natuva who also hails from Navuso said the challenge now would be for the people from his province to take up cassava farming as this would be needed for ethanol production.

Meanwhile, a former school teacher of Navuso, Paula Watisoni said it is a great day for the 3 villages of Vugalei, as many politicians have come and gone during their campaigns before elections, and delivering false promises that they would build their road, but nothing eventuated for years.

The villagers also thanked the Interim Government especially Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama for providing them with the much awaited road, a relief in terms of transportation.

Naitasiri high chief Ratu Inoke Takiveikata was not present at the opening ceremony.

Commodore Bainimarama has just arrived to meet the villagers.
