Air Pacific is expected to confirm later this week on whether it will go ahead with a planned ten percent pay cut for its staff across the board.

Airline CEO John Campbell is expected to confirm the cost cutting measures later.

However, there is confirmation today that talks are expected to get underway this Friday between the Air Pacific management and representatives of the Transport Workers Union to discuss the cost cutting measures.

Union's General Secretary Kamlesh Kumar said the airline company is planning to implement some cost cutting measures and talks were held regarding the matter yesterday.

However, he said he cannot divulge any other information on the matter as talks are still underway.

Air Pacific has already downgraded flights, reduced flying hours for staff and is encouraging cabin crew to take leave without pay if they wish.
