Fiji’s 2005 winning Melrose Cup coach and former Flying Fijians mentor, Wayne Pivac will bring his winning New Zealand National Sevens champion Auckland to the Uprising Fiji International Sevens Festival next weekend.

It adds further to the high quality of teams on show after Auckland defeated Otago 36-24 in the final for a record 11th national title.

Pivac and his Auckland team also won Australia’s Paradise Sevens in November when they played under the guise of Samurai and overpowered Fiji’s Red Rock in the final.

Of Pivac’s squad of 12, eight played in the NZ National Sevens last week, and he is bringing four others, including former NZ Sevens playmaker Amasio Raoma and Samoan flyer Tom Iosefo.
