The Hurricanes have received a boost ahead of their Super Rugby match against the Blues with the arrival of Samoan international Tusi Pisi.

The first five joins the franchise off the back of a strong Rugby World Cup performance for Samoa.

The 29-year-old had his first day with the Hurricanesa fter completing his contract with a Japanese club.

Coach Mark Hammett said Pisi should be available for next weekend’s home clash with the Cheetahs.

Meanwhile its bad news for the Blues as Isaia Toeva could be sidelined upto 6 months as he requires surgery for a stressed fracture on his troublesome hip.

In the Super rugby matches this Friday, the Blues take on the Hurricanes at 6.35pm and at 8.40pm the Rebels meet the Force.
