Over 500 people living in Navonu village along the Hibiscus Highway in Vanua Levu will now have piped water in their village, thanks to the Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation.

The Project which cost $40,000 was only possible after members of the village applied to the Foundation for help.

Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation which supplies safe drinking water to rural communities throughout Fiji, sent an engineering team to construct a dam to capture the spring water, install a 7km of pipe and three water tanks.

A release from the Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation said that women no longer have to hall buckets from the river for washing and cooking.
