Sacrifice and hard work, is needed from any athlete, if they are to become a star or good ambassadors for their country.

Those are the words of Papua New Guinea's top swimmer Ryan Pini, who is in the country for the FASANOC Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year awards night.

The 28 year old from Port Moresby who won the 100m butterfly at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and in 2008 he became the first PNG swimmer ever to reach an Olympic final said athletes must set a goal and then try to achieve it.
