A 34-year-old pilot has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of contravening the rules and regulations of the Arms and Ammunition Act following the shooting incident in Nadi which resulted in the death of a 6-year-old boy.

The pilot is the owner of the gun used in the shooting.

He is expected to appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court this morning.

Police added the 10-year-old who was questioned in relation to the incident has been released while the parents of the 6-year-old are expected to be questioned soon.

The 6-year-old boy of Auckland died on Saturday at the Sabeto Hills as a result of gunshot wounds.

A 14-year-old who had accompanied him also suffered injuries and is still admitted at the Lautoka Hospital.
