The time frame for the extended registration of the landline and mobile phones under the Telephone Services decree ends in ten days time from today.
Following a request Vodafone and Digicel last month, Trade and Communications Minister Aiyaz Saiyed Khaiyum had extended the deadline for registration until the 22nd of this month.
Sayed Khaiyum had also said that there will be no further extensions when the current deadline ends in 30 days.
Telecom Fiji's Group Manager Marketing and Public Relations Vanessa Kilner says they are still registering their customers and their focus now is their customers in the rural areas.
Vodafone and Digicel Fiji could not be reached for a comment.
Under the Compulsory Telephone Registration Decree, users must register their details with a telephone service providers and a thirty day time frame has been given for registration after which penalties will be imposed on the service provider and the telephone owner.
