A former soccer district administrator, Mohammed Sareem is preparing a petition against the Fiji Football Association which he will give to the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama asking for state intervention.
Sareem is claiming that the existing administrators of Fiji FA have instituted constitutional reforms which virtually guarantee their perpetual rule, by disqualifying other capable people from contesting for their positions.
He says state intervention may be the only resort to clean up the organisation and allow the sport to flourish in the country.
When asked whether state intervention is the most appropriate action as Fiji soccer could face severe FIFA sanctions, Sareem says they just have to bite the bullet.
Meanwhile Fiji FA’s President, Rajesh Patel says they are doing things right and that is why the district associations have voted for them.
Patel says it’s the outsiders who want to run the Fiji FA which cannot happen as they have to come through the districts.
Sareem says they have so far collected 2,000 signatures and are aiming to get around 10,000 signatures.
