A former employee of Save the Children Fiji has been charged with 26 counts of Larceny by Servant for allegedly stealing around $50,000 from her employer.

52yr old Florence Peterson of Rewa Street appeared before Suva Magistrate Amani Rokotinaviti late yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that Peterson stole $50,000 from Save the Children Fiji while employed as the Financial Administrator in the year 2006.

Her plea was deferred as Peterson requested to find legal representation.

After submissions by the Prosecutor for strict bail conditions to be imposed, Magistrate Rokotinaviti set bail at $500, told Peterson to hand in her passport to the court and to report at the Samabula Police Station once a week.

The case is adjourned to 17th September for a plea to be taken.
