Players who are vying for a place in the Fiji 7’s team to Hong Kong have to perform better than those who are already in the team.
FRU Games Committee Chairman, Rafaele Kasibulu said the selectors have already picked a 30 member squad to prepare for the Hong Kong 7’s and the best people will be picked after the Marist 7’s.
Kasibulu used the 2005 Melrose Cup selection as an example where William Ryder forced his way into the team although a shadow Fiji team was already named.
Meanwhile, the San Diego tournament kicks off on Sunday with Fiji's first game at 8.12 in the morning against Australia.
Then Fiji takes on West Indies at 11.18, and their last game is at 2.46 in the afternoon against Samoa.
