The Press Secretary to the Commissioner Western said that draft people's charter consultation has received overwhelming support in the Western Division and that 95 percent of the people have supported the draft charter.

Waisale Tora said that reports submitted to the Commissioner Western shows a steady growth in figures of people supporting the draft people's charter.

Tora adds in the Western Division 489 villages and settlements have been visited and out of the 64,109 response forms distributed for signing, 60, 206 agreed to the draft charter, 1601 agreed, subject to amendments while 1378 disagreed and 348 forms were declared invalid.

He is also claiming that villages located on the island of Waya Levu and Waya Lailai have changed their stance on the consultation of the draft people's charter and are now beginning to understand government's initiatives by building a united Fiji through draft people's charter.
