People have been urged to take great care of their oral health as mouth related problems can lead to Heart diseases and other non-communicable diseases.
The President of Fiji Dental Association, Doctor Vikash Singh said that there is very high oral disease prevalence in the community which is of great concern.
He said many times people who are found to be suffering from NCD's have had a history of oral related problems.
Dr Singh said the Ministry of Health has commissioned a new oral health survey as the last survey was done in 2004.
He said the Association also commends the Health Ministry=s decision to start implementing drinking water fluoridation.
He said that the Association will continue to advise the Minister and consumer affairs bodies on unethical and unproven products that are being sold in the country.
