The Nadi Weather Office has warned people living in low lying areas around the country to take precautions as a flash flood warning is still in place.

Assistant Director, Alipate Waqaicelua confirms a Tropical Depression is now located about 300 kilometers West North West of Nadi and is not expected to develop into a Tropical Cyclone.

Waqaicelua said the effects of the depression will be on whole of the group as it is expected to bring in occasional rain, heavier at times around the country causing flooding of low lying areas.

He said the Tropical Depression is slowly moving South and weakening at the same time. The forecasters are keeping a close watch on the Tropical Depression for any developments.

A strong wind warning remains in force for all Fiji waters especially Northern Vanua Levu, Northern Lau, Yasawas and Mamanuca.

Mariners are advised not to go out sea.
