The Water Authority of Fiji has called on people to always store water as water cuts cannot be predicted.
This comes after people of Samabula, Lami and Delainavesi complained that no prior notices were given for the recent water cuts.
Water Authority Spokesperson Maika Nagalu said the water pumps and main pipes are more than 30 years old and it will be wise for people to store water in case the pumps breakdown or the main pipe bursts.
Meanwhile, people living along the Princes Road, Namadi Heights, Tamavua, Wailoku, Samabula, Lami, Delainavesi, Veisari upto Togalevu are facing water cuts from yesterday afternoon.
This is because of a mechanical problem at the Savura pumping station which supplies water to all these areas.
He said the pumps at Savura, Waila and Wainibuku pumping stations frequently break down because they are more than 30 years old.
